Career prospects 
The PhD in Classics allows students to do advanced research in the areas of language, literature and classical culture, and to acquire instruments to develop interdisciplinary studies. It also allows to develop specific skills (ability of synthesizing, evaluating, solving critical problems, innovating) that can be applied to any professional activity. PhDs in Classics can hold positions in libraries, archives, museums, or city halls, and can develop activities in the areas of cultural management, political science, international relations, or the publishing market. They can also pursue an academic or teaching career.

Students applying to this study cycle must have: 1. an MA degree (or equivalent) in Humanities or any other area considered relevant and appropriate by the Scientific Committee (SC) of the programme. 2. a foreign academic degree in Humanities or any other area considered relevant and appropriate by the SC of the programme, organized according to the Bologna process by a participant State; 1.3 a foreign academic degree in Humanities or any other area considered relevant and appropriate, recognised as satisfying an MA degree's objectives by the programme's SC; 1.4 holders of an academic, scientific or professional CV whereby the programme's SC may acknowledge the student’s capacity to carry out this cycle of studies.
