Biomarkers in Aquaculture: hands-on new tools
Biomarkers in Aquaculture: hands-on new tools
This course aims to provide knowledge and new tools concerning the advantages of using biomarkers in aquaculture production. The applicability of these biochemical tools in aquaculture allows gathering important information about growth, feed utilization, activity, stress, and health status of organisms. This new approach has been successfully used in recent years by the team. The course is composed of theoretical lectures, presentations, and discussions of several of our own case studies using fish and invertebrates. The course is targeted to scientists, Ph.D. and MSc students (with a background in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields), and other professionals involved in the cultivation of organisms, decision-making, and environmental management.
