The world faces specific vulnerabilities to climate change that represent different opportunities to mitigate the most serious impacts and build a more resilient territory. The presentation of recent scientific evidence, explaining the different impacts and disseminating climate action strategies, together with useful tools to communicate and process data, is essential for us to adapt socio-ecological systems to the future climate. The course will be an opportunity to learn about the impacts of climate change in the European space and national territory, and review the sectoral strategic options focused on creating more resilient socio-ecological systems that allow leveraging a low-carbon future. In this course, scientists, policy makers and decision-makers will be invited to provide a synthesis of the latest scientific evidence on climate change, emission reduction strategies and risk management strategies, adaptation and resilient development across multiple sectors. The target audience of this course will be professionals and decision makers from central, regional and municipal public administration, private companies and liberal professionals (environment sector or other interested parties). The course can be adapted to accommodate PhD students as well.
