Educating for the sustainability of the marine environment: how to move from theory to practice?
The degradation of marine ecosystems reinforces the importance of education for sustainability. An accredited training course is proposed for teachers, secondary and higher education students and other interested audiences. The general objectives are: To promote an education for the sustainability of the oceans; Update scientific concepts and their pedagogical application; Provide educational resources suitable for different levels of education; Apply didactic methodologies and active and diversified teaching and learning strategies; Valuing citizen participation in the management and protection of the oceans and their resources. The course falls within the scope of: The PRR, pillar “Climate Transition” and priority area “increase productive potential”; Of ODS 4, 12, 13 and 14; From ENM 2030, OE 1 , 2 , 4 , 7 and 8; From the Principles of Ocean Literacy; From essential learning in primary and secondary education and the profile of students upon leaving compulsory education.
