Analysis of the application of AI in the performance of legal professions, in particular, by Courts and Lawyers. AI in the formation of legal decisions: fundamentals for the application of the autonomous legal decision to the resolution of disputes; automatic mechanisms for decision and prediction of legal outcomes. Development of formal or computational models of legal knowledge, reasoning and decision-making, namely, predictive coding technology. Legal, ethical, and social implications of the use of artificial intelligence in Law.
Understanding the regulation of this field considering the changes in the regulatory framework of the European Union, namely the proposal for a Regulation Laying Down Harmonized Rules on Artificial Intelligence and the Coordinated Plan with Member States.
Analysis of the main implications of the use of AI in several branches of Law, such as AI and Competition Law (Algorithmic collusive behaviors; consumer behavior modeling); AI and Intellectual Property (Copyright on creations generated by AI; Detection of violations; Freedom of Speech); AI and Civil Liability (Liability and autonomous vehicles; IoT and civil liability parameters).
