Animal health law - Producer training

According to the Animal Health Law (AHL) - Regulation (EU) No. 2016/429, Article 11 - Knowledge of animal health, food chain operators working with animals shall have adequate knowledge of:
(a) animal diseases, including those that are transmissible to humans;
(b) biosecurity principles;
(c) the interaction between animal health, animal welfare and human health;
(d) good practice of animal husbandry for the animal species under their care;
(e) resistance to treatments, including antimicrobial resistance, and its implications.
Therefore, it is necessary to provide a training offer in these aspects to breeders, through specific training actions, recognized by the Competent Veterinary Authority, the General Directorate of Food and Veterinary. The training action will have two versions, one aimed at ruminant breeders and the other at swine breeders.
