OBJECTIVES:
Learning how to use Big Data to explore socio-spatial dynamics in tourism. Familiarization with (open) big data sources and spatial analysis techniques to leverage knowledge in tourism studies. Training for acquisition, management and processing of big data. Database integration of big data, statistical and geographic data. Spatial analysis of tourism, including reflections on the carrying capacity of the territory, correlation with socioeconomic indicators, and analysis of spatial patterns (clusters, hotspots, density, distance, interpolation).

1. Big Data: concepts and information sources in tourism.
2. Spatial analysis techniques for exploring patterns in tourism.
3. Acquisition, management and processing of Big Data.
4. Integration in GIS environment of Big Data and statistical and geographic data.
5. Exploration of spatial analysis methods in tourism studies: clusters, hotspots, density, distance, interpolation.
6. Reflective analysis on the use of Big Data, methods, and results obtained.
