The PhD in Archeology and Prehistory is organized in six semesters (180 ECTS). It starts with a four-semester doctoral course (120 ECTS) followed by autonomous research and writing of the doctoral thesis, under the supervision of one or more professors (60 ECTS).
Taught by a specialized and internationally recognized faculty, it allows a close relationship with the research developed in a particular way by one of the centers of the Faculty of Arts and HUmanities: the Archeology Center of the University of Lisbon (UNIARQ).
The PhD in Prehistory and Archaeology aims to provide students with the ability to understand and systematic methods of scientific research in a specific area in the field of archeology, understood in its chronological and thematic diversity.
The 3rd cycle seeks to build skills to conceive, design, adapt and carry out research projects in the field of archeology, with particular emphasis on projects with scientific validation from peers, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the area, either in academic or professional context.
