The PhD in Human Motricity aims to train specialists at the highest level in the study of human movement, in multiple dimensions of analysis, valuing multidisciplinary optics and methodologies. It is oriented towards the in-depth understanding of the production processes of human movement, from a biopsychosocial perspective. The object of study also intersects, from an Anglo-Saxon perspective, with the Science of Human Movement (Human Movement Science) or Kinesiology.
In a generic way, it can be said that it involves the study of the processes of control and production of movement, the study of the conditions that support the action, the behavioral plasticity of the organism and, eventually, its modification over time by maturational processes, by specific intervention effects and contextual circumstances. The adaptation of movement to circumstantial conditions and the effect of interfering psychosocial variables on action are still specific interests of this doctoral area.
