Geography
1
Geography is situated at the crossroads of two fields of knowledge: the earth sciences and the social sciences. Its interdisciplinary nature enables it to construct an overall view of the earth's surface and develop integrated knowledge and analytical tools which are indispensable for the education of aware citizens, for the formulation of public policies and for territorial planning and management.
This degree aims to enable its students to understand the current world and its complexity, so interdependent in its global dimension, where the various flows and realities intersect and, at the same time, so fragmented in its regional and local dimension, by the inequalities that separate peoples and territories. Develop methods and techniques necessary for the rigorous selection and interpretation of various sources of information for different levels and scales of analysis, as well as, structure, organize and process this information in order to identify problems of territorial nature and contribute to their solution.
