• Probability and Stochastic Processes
• Dissertation proposal and preparation
• Public defense of the dissertation
The scholar part of the program leads to the Advanced Studies Diploma in Statistics and Stochastic Processes (DEPE), with the duration of one year. The DEPE allows for a smooth integration of courses in Probability and Statistics, related areas of Mathematics, and applications in other fields, with emphasis on Engineering, making effective use of the existing competences at IST.
Students with a minimum average grade of 14 (out of 20) in the DEPE may enter the PD-EPE provided they are approved in the Qualifying Exams.
This program aims to form specialists in Probability and Statistics for scientific research and the management of advanced teams that use Statistics and Stochastic Processes in innovative contexts.
