Chemical Engineering develops new solutions for technical and scientific problems in the intersection of Chemistry and Engineering. The role of a chemical engineer is to investigate, design, conceive and operate systems for transforming chemical materials into final products, through chemical and physical processes, framed by economic, social, ethical and environmental constraints.

Objectives

Develop the capacity for autonomous learning, as well as a critical and creative spirit, in order to prepare for their insertion in the professional world or providing the pillars for a 2nd. Study cycle that allows them to adapt in a technological universe in accelerated development and change.
Promote the use of specific chemical engineering computational tools to support the work of analyzing and designing new processes.

Teamwork will be privileged for the development of extensive reports, or executive summaries or extended summaries that can illustrate the monograph or laboratory work carried out. In parallel, students' oral
communication to their peers through long or pitch-type presentations will be encouraged.

It is intended that students at the end of the cycle have the appropriate competence for research on quality websites where they can retrieve essential information for the development of their future professional activity.

Career prospects
Train human resources with a solid preparation in terms of the basic fundamental principles and methods of Chemical Engineering and with a clear vision of the integration of this knowledge in its various application areas. It is intended that students obtain the essential knowledge of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics to better understand the concepts related to thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, the kinetics of chemical reactions and the design of reactors and the main separation technologies. Develop the ability to carry out material and energy balances in conjunction with knowledge of the materials and financial analysis to enable them to carry out a preliminary process design. Ensure good preparation for the 2nd. Study cycle where the knowledge acquired here will be deepened in order to synthesize the integrating convergence of the various technologies and which will contribute to the scientific development and innovation in the fields of Chemical Engineering.
