Financial literacy and decision making course in the context of economic recovery
- 2022/2023
- 2º Semestre
Individuals today are more responsible for their personal finances than ever before. Skills in this area are becoming more critical, leading to divergence in wages between those with a college education, or higher, and those with lower levels of education. Moreover, the exponential growth in financial technology is revolutionizing the way people make payments, decide about their financial investments, and seek financial advice. In this context, a major threat to people’s ability to make financial decisions is their level of financial illiteracy and often poor decision skills. The goal of this course is to empower consumers by promoting their financial literacy and the quality of their decision making. The course is thus designed to not only promote the knowledge and understanding of financial concepts and risks but also the skills and motivation to use such knowledge to make effective consumer decisions, avoiding errors and biases described by the scientific research on this topic. Our ultimate objective is to improve the financial well-being of individuals and society, and to enable participation in economic life.
