The Master in Archeology deepens interdisciplinary research in the area, stimulating research and learning through fieldwork exercises, which involve archaeological excavations as well as archaeological follow-up studies and the enhancement of monuments and sites. It aims to train specialized staff and includes internships, either in research projects at the Archeology Center of the University of Lisbon (UNIARQ) or in external entities.

Objectives 

It is intended to enable graduates of the 2nd cycle of the following learning objectives:
1. Knowledge: Further research in the field of archeology, stimulating research for specific projects, creating learning spaces and exercise control tasks of archaeological excavations and studies of development of the various processes of archaeological monitoring works as well as recovery of monuments and sites.
2. Skills: Apply and integrate knowledge in solving problems and formulating hypothesis to explain the phenomena under study, elect bibliography sources, others apply the concepts and analytical tools , Building structured summaries, Communicate the research , Direction of Archaeological Works.
3. Fullfilment: Train staff expertise and interdisciplinary vocation, either within the business or within the archaeological cultural management. Development of a reflective practice that allows for lifelong learning.

National Admission Exams 
Are admitted as candidates for registration: holders of a degree, or equivalent, provided that the individual profile of the candidate is deemed suitable for further study in the field of archeology; holders of foreign academic degree awarded following a 1. cycle of studies organized according to rinciples of the Bologna Process, a state adhering to this process, since the individual profile of the candidate is deemed suitable for further study in the field of archeology, the holders of a degree foreign higher education is, by the Scientific Council of the Faculty, recognized as meeting the objectives of a degree.
